Venture Lodging at Martinez Lake

Venture Lodging is MCAS Yuma's very own military campground. Enjoy the Martinez Lake offers swimming, fishing, hiking, cabin rentals, RV spaces, and tent sites to make your stay at the lake enjoyable. We offer a variety of watercraft such as boats, kayaks, paddleboards, and more available for rent to make your time at the lake even more memorable. Our campground is available to all Military Active Duty, Dependents, Retirees, DoD and eligible patrons.

We offer day-to-day and long-term sites with electrical and water hookups, all within walking distance to the lake. These sites are ideal for motorhomes, pull-along trailers, and truck campers requiring hookups. Sites include a shade shelter, grill, and picnic table.

General Store

For your convenience, we carry a variety of snacks, drinks, basic toiletries, and bait. The store is open Monday-Thursday 8 am-4 pm and Friday-Sunday 8 am-5 pm.

Covered Picnic Areas

Covered picnic areas are perfect for large gatherings, BBQs, or simply staying in the shade. Contact us to reserve a picnic area.

Dock Slips

Enjoy the convenience of docking your boat during your stay by renting one of our boat slips.

Boat Launch

The nearest boat launch is at Meers Point Recreation Area, located on the northern shore of Martinez Lake.

Restroom & Showers

We provide 24 hour access to showers / restrooms, which are conveniently located on the camp grounds.

Trash Disposal

Trash recepticals are located throughout the camp grounds. These dumpsters are for visitors use only.

Fuel

The nearest gasoline station is located approximately 14 miles away aboard U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground (YPG). We recommend fueling up prior to your visit.

RV Sites, Tent Sites, and Rentals

Check-in is at 3pm. Check-out is at 11am. Please have your rental cleaned and vacated by this time. Pleast note that a cleaning fee of  $50 cleaning will be charged if rental is left uncleaned.

RV Dumping of any type of water is prohibited. Fines and eviction will apply.

Smoking in any rental unit or restroom is strictly prohibited. A $250 fine will be issued for violation of this rule.

Parking is limited to two (2) vehicles per rental. See a staff  member about parking options for additional vehicles; boat trailers, toy haulers, golf carts, dirt bikes, razors, or off-road vehicles. 

Guests occupying Cabin 11 or 12, allow access to adjacent tent camp sites and swimming area. These sites are not included in the cabin rental. Do not use tent camp sites for boat parking unless you have rented the site.

Keep air conditioning/heating units between 75-85 degrees in park models and cabin rentals. Air conditiong unit may malfunction otherwise and may take several hours for service to be restored.

Please report any problems with your accommodations immediately. Unreported issues will not qualify for a refund.

Refunds will not be issued for early departure. 

Campgrounds

Speed limit within the campgrounds is 5 mph.

Campfires are prohibited from May 01 through October 31.

For the safety of our guests, the swimming area is open from 8am to sundown. No lifeguard on duty. Children under the age of 14 must have adult supervision at all times. Pets and fishing in the swimming area is strictly prohibited.

Possession or use of firearms or fireworks of any kind is prohibited on the campgrounds.

Off-road riding is prohibited on the campgrounds

Boat launch is located at Meers Point Recreation Area, on the northern shore of Martinez Lake. Launching of any type of watercraft at the campgrounds is prohibited. 

Quiet hours are from 9pm to 7am. Please respect other guests, and keep noise to a reasonable level during these hours.

Properly dispose of your trash and cigarette butts.

Pets Welcome

Pets are allowed. For the safety of all guests, pets must be on a leash at all, no exceptions. Please pick-up after your pet and dispose of in proper waste receptacles.

Cancelling Your Reservation

You may cancel your reservation 72 hours prior to your reservation date. Please note that we will assess a fee for your entire stay if you must cancel or modify your resrevation after this deadline. If you have made a prepayment, we will retain all or part of your prepayment. If not, we will charge your credit card.

Please be sure to verify all policies/restrictions prior to arrival: they may vary based on the installation and/or location. This may affect (but not limited to) certain guest eligibility such as DoD civilians, contractors, retired civilians, sponsors, foreign nationals, etc.

Guest Eligibility

Reservations are accepted for all eligible personnel on an as-received basis. Reservations and room assignments are made without regard to rank, grade, or time of reservation. Eligible guests are as follows:

Armed Forces active duty members and their family members.
Members of the Reserve Components (Ready Reserve and National Guard; Reservists in training or hospitalized in Military Treatment Facilities) and Delayed Entry Program personnel.
Cadets of Service Academies.
Members of the Coast Guard, Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service, and Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) on active duty.
Armed Forces and other uniformed service retirees and their families.
Honorably discharged veterans with 100 percent Service-connected disability.
Medal of Honor Recipients.  Un-remarried surviving spouses of personnel who died while on active duty or while in retired status.
Un-remarried former spouses who were married to military members for at least 20 years while the military member performed 20 years of creditable service in determining eligibility for retired pay.
Unmarried children (including orphans), under the age of 21, or over 21 if incapacitated or a full time student between 21 and 23, who were dependent on the active duty or retired member for over one-half of their support at the time of the member’s death. A child who is adopted by a nonmilitary member loses their eligibility.
U.S. DoD and Coast Guard civilians, DoD civilian employees on Evacuation Orders and their family members (with limitations) When stationed at, or on temporary additional duty (TAD) outside the U.S., or on TAD in the U.S. if staying on base. Also, MCCS MWR activity civilian employees (NAF and APF), both active and retired (with 20 or more years of MWR servicemay be a combination of other Service MWR time or active duty service if credited towards civilian retirement), may use NAF Lodging.
Military personnel of foreign nations and their family members when on orders from the U.S. Armed Forces, or in overseas areas when the major command commander grants privileges in the best interest of the U.S.
Former Military members and caregivers who qualify under the Patronage Expansion provision of the 2019 National Defense Authorization Act.

Recreational Activities

Whether your visting for the day or staying for the weekend, you can enjoy fun recreational activites out at the lake and the surrounding area.

Boating & Watercraft

Experience the lake on a boat or one of you paddle board or other non-motorized watercraft. Our watercrafts provide you the opportunity to explore the surrounding areas and take in the beautiful sights.

Motorized boat rentals require that you provide a boating safety certificate before reserving a boat. Guests can complete the free boating safety course online at www.boatus.org.

Swimming

The swim area it’s perfect for families that are looking for a designated place for their children to cool off and enjoy some time in the water.

Fishing

Martinez lake is the perfect spot for fishing largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, channel catfish, flathead catfish, black crappie, bluegill, green sunfish, redear sunfish, tilapia and striped bass. Fish out on the water with one of our boat rentals or fish from the fishing dock. We also have a fish cleaning station to prep your fish.

All fishing at Martinez Lake requires a fishing license and river stamp; California residents with a valid fishing license will only need to buy a river stamp. To purchase an Arizona Fishing License visit www.azgfd.com

Hiking

Explore the outdoors in hike the surrounding area. Martinez Lake is surround by the beautiful desert lanscape ideal for nature watching.

Off-Roading

Bring your off-road vehicles and take in one of the many trails in the surrounding area. Off-raoding is not permitted on the campground for the safety of our patrons.
