Triple P – Positive Parenting Program® Solutions
This 6-week (Jan. 9-Feb. 13) parenting class will give parents simple and practical strategies to help them confidently manage their children's behavior, prevent problems from starting, and build strong, healthy relationships with their kids.
This class will:
· Describe Triple P’s multi-level systems and interventions.
· Identify risk factors and protective factors and understand causes of the development of child behavior problems.
· Describe and understand positive parenting strategies and techniques promoting children’s development, social competence, self-control, and be able to apply these strategies to a broad range of target behaviors.
· Describe and understand the core principles of positive parenting that effects behavior changes including strategies for generalization enhancement and maintenance of treatment outcome.
· Utilize effective parent-consultation and skills training procedures.
· Identify sources of parent and practitioner resistance and manage common process issues.
· Identify parents and children requiring more intensive intervention and be aware of appropriate referral pathways.
· Implement effective peer supervision and support procedures.
Participants are required to attend six consecutive sessions in order to receive a certificate of completion.
