What are we reading?
We'll be diving into How to Be Brave by Daisy May Johnson, a wonderfully quirky yet heartwarming novel about Calla North, a young girl who, alongside her boarding school friends, embarks on an unexpected adventure to find her missing mother.
A Glimpse of the Story
Calla North and her mother, Elizabeth, share a quiet and happy life together—though it's an unusual one. Elizabeth is the world's foremost expert on... ducks! But expertise in ducks doesn't always pay the bills. When Elizabeth gets the chance for a paid research trip to the Amazon, she takes it, leaving Calla behind at boarding school. Calla thinks her life will be uneventful, until she receives devastating news—her mother's plane has gone missing. Can Calla, her friends, and an unexpected team of nuns defeat the evil new headmistress and track down her mother before it's too late?
