MCCS Recognizes Food and Hospitality Activity Excellence
The Food and Hospitality Excellence Award Program was established by Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) to recognize those food and hospitality activities that exceeded the highest level of standards of operational excellence and service to Marines.
These awards provide the opportunity for any club, restaurant, snack bar, or lodging facility, regardless of size or location, to measure their results against criteria in pre-established categories of customer service, financial performance, human resources development, and operational excellence.
For 2015, the Business and Support Services Division awarded 58 MCCS activities aboard 14 Marine Corps Installations for their exceptional performance.
“We are extremely proud of all of our 2015 Excellence Award winners. This year marked another record year in terms of activities that were eligible to receive an award, and the number of activities recognized with the Food & Hospitality Excellence Award,” said Ric Pomeroy, Branch Head – Food, Hospitality and Commercial Recreation for HQMC, Business and Support Services Division (MR). “Although the process to determine our Activity of the Year awards was arduous, The Officers’ Club at Kaneohe Bay, Starbucks Twentynine Palms and Inns of the Corps Miramar exemplify the “crème de la crème” of MCCS food and hospitality programs. All three maintain an exceptionally high standard of service, profitability, cleanliness and condition that consistently exceed patron expectations,” he added.
The managers and staff of these operations have gone beyond the values, principles, and core competencies of MCCS - they understand and continue to accomplish the MCCS primary mission of taking care of Marines and their families by instituting best in class operating practices and saturating their activities with the voice of our guests – Marines, sailors and their families.
Check out the great food and service that is available at your local MCCS activities. For more information about the Marine Corps Food and Hospitality Excellence Award Program contact Ric Pomeroy, Branch Head – Food, Hospitality and Commercial Recreation, at 703-784-3811 or pomeroyk@usmc-mccs.org.
