Single Marine Program (SMP)
We serve as the voice for single Marines and Sailors in identifying concerns, developing initiatives, and providing recommendations through advocacy, recreational activities, special events and community involvement.
We are comprised of single Marines and Sailors who represent their Unit and want to make a difference within their Unit and aboard MCAS Yuma. Lead by young leaders, we function to support single Marines’ leisure interests and Quality of Life (QOL) concerns. A single Marine’s QOL concerns include, but are not limited to, activities and issues that directly or indirectly influence personal readiness, morale, living environment, and personal growth and development.
Volunteer Opportunities
SMP offers several volunteer opportunities each year which cover just about every aspect of our community including animal shelters, river clean-ups, food bank, community projects/events and so much more. You make such a huge difference in our community and we appreciate all that you do!
A Letter of Appreciation (LOA) is issues to each volunteer per opportunity. These opportunities are open to all active duty, dependents, DoD, and their guests.
Transportation to volunteer opportunities is provided for active duty, with the priority given to single or unaccompanied Service Members.
Active Duty Recreation Center
The Active-Duty Recreation Center has tons of activities including pool, poker, ping pong, gaming (Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, Nintendo), darts, music room, movie lounge with reclining chairs, huge projection screen for showing major sporting events, beach volleyball, board games, and much more! While you’re here, you can also enjoy delicious snack and drinks. All recreation activities are free to use and open to all Active-Duty Military and one guest aged 18 and over.
