A fun, energetic storytime for children of all ages and stages.

Key Concepts:
• Using speech and language games
• Using active literacy activities
• Learning through repetition
• Learn how to incorporate books and language through play
• Make language fun though action

*MCCS Libraries categorizes Storytimes by STAGES NOT AGES. If you are unsure which storytime is best for you, we encourage you to join us for Play to Learn Storytime. Please remember that storytimes are not classes or performances, but carefully planned programs that provide parents & caregivers with the tools to introduce their children to early literacy & language building play. *

Play to Learn Storytime Guidelines

GROWN-UP PARTICIPATION is key to the success of this program. Your cooperation is important. Join in the activities and show your little one early literacy is fun!

TAKE BREAKS WHEN NEEDED: If you or your child need a break, feel free to step out of the room and come back when you're ready. Take breaks as needed to release emotions, check cell phones, or have a quick snack without pulling focus from the program.

PAUSE CONVERSATIONS: Part of Storytime is building community and we know you have lots to share with the other adults! Please paus conversations and fully engage in the program with your little one.

NO PHONE ZONE: Please have phones put away and on vibrate during Storytime. This will help ensure Grown-ups are participating and prevents sounds that distract from learning.

HAVE FUN: Our goal is to have fun with books, activities, and songs that incorporate language building play.
